A pair of Little Grebes were feeding a small chick on the potato reservoir at St Brides today (the one that was famous last year for hosting the Ring-necked Duck). The water level is very low - about 10 feet down - so the grebes had plenty of shelter from the gale-force winds. (This little reservoir is a fairly regular breeding site for Little Grebes).
