Gann and Marloes Peninsula (Wednesday)

After dropping off a Manxie, that I'd collected, with Dave and Lisa to release (well done guys, they were releasing a 'small flock' last night), I had a quick look around the Gann with visiting Gwent birder John O'Sullivan. No sign of any rare waders and only a distant view of the Osprey beyond the Pines. The gulls and waders flushed and we waited in anticipation for it to appear over the pools but it didn't, so seemed to be fishing higher up the Gann. A Red kite in the area tonight.

Nipping over to Marloes, a quick look at the Buff-breast field didn't reveal any waders, same story on my return in the twilight (the crop is already a couple of inches high and greening). Apart from increasing numbers of Meadow pipit the walk out and around the Deer Park was fairly uneventful. Dozen or so Chough and a flock 8 Raven, the Robins seem to have thinned out from last night. Whitethroats in Martins Haven and Deer Park.
