Great Egrets at Trefin

Looking out of my home office window i could see 3 large white birds circliing over Trefin, landing in a field east of the village, quick trip down in the car to find 3 Great Egrets feeding beside the small pool there. Hassled by Rooks, they quickly moved on (present 12 til 12.30). 3 Dunlin on the pool as well.
First thing there were a couple of Chiffchaffs and my first Goldcrest of the autumn at Aberfelin. An evening visit to Dowrog drew a blank, but a Tufted Duck on Penberi Pond and a nice Spotted Flycatcher on Tretio Common at the plantation, were nice. These NE winds are better it seems.
