Oriel Hide at Marloes Mere

Anyone who has visited Oriel Hide on the northern side of Marloes Mere will tell you it is in a poor state. The National Trust had scheduled a major overhaul in February this year but this was overtaken by events.

With the agreement of James Roden, the National Trust Ranger, I have undertaken some basic repairs to make the hide usable and to limit the rate of further deterioration until more substantial works can be done. Have a look down in front of the hide to see the challenge facing anyone working on the front of the hide!

There are a few more minor jobs to be done, but the hide is now usable. The first visiting birders were on their way there as I was packing up my tools yesterday!
