The last couple of days, since the onset of the northerly based winds it seems, the Gann has been pretty devoid of gulls. No significant morning gatherings of large gulls, and a poor afternoon pre-roost gatherings of small gulls. Feeding somewhere else & thus roosting somewhere else?
The drake Goldeneye remains on the lagoon, and this afternoon a nice little party of 8 Brent Geese (all pale-bellied adults). This morning, a group of 4 Shelduck consisted of a drake, female, and 2 1st year birds. Nice to imagine they are the family from the Gann earlier this year...
