A Happy New Year to all.
"Wing tags" is back at the Corse! When I arrived at 10.00 the 1CY female was quartering the western end of the reedbed, the adult female was perched on a bush well inland, opposite the pines. The 1CY briefly ventured inland, only to beat a retreat pursued by the adult female.
At around 10.20 the tagged 1CY male appeared, flying east; he turned and flew west again, high, pursued by the adult female - she really does seem highly territorial. I located him again hunting over the fen meadow at the western end, then perching on a low bush by the watercourse. As I left around 11.30 he was quartering the western end of the reedbed.
