A yomp down Cosheston Pill for the last of my 3 WEBS counts (well, 2½, Broomhill Burrows Ponds takes about 20 minutes).
The ducks have nearly all gone - just 29 teal and 11 mallard. Redshank (29) and greenshank (12) were scattered along the length of the pill, and there were 31 snipe in the salt marsh. Two obvious pairs of shelduck were on the south side, with three on the open water at the Waterloo end. A red kite flew low over Cosheston. Just one little egret. Gulls - 42 lesser black backs, 17 herring and 3 black-headed at the Waterloo end.
