I couldn't believe my luck when a/the Alpine Swift
steamed north at 5:00 pm this afternoon just North of Nolton Haven!!!
While reading through my Collins Bird Guide I can honestly say that it
makes for a perfect match.
'Immediately identified by its large size' - definitely! It was huge.
'Rather slow wing action and deep beats' - still perfect
'White belly' - it was the most prominent feature.
'Has white throat but this not always so easy to see' - Perfect match.
