There was still a Cuckoo at Plumstone Mountain last Tuesday afternoon around 5 pm: it was in the tallest of the conifers in the scrub by the NE end of the plantation, calling repeatedly (with the call at some points being echoed back from the south). Thanks to the poster of early May for the tip! Also remarkable density of Linnets, and some juvenile Stonechats already. Roger Brock (now back in Leeds, sadly)
