Stock Doves at Withybush Woods/Tripod

Remembering a post from nearly a fortnight ago, reporting a Stock Dove (probably with young) at Withybush Woods, I decided to have a look this morning to see if I could find any sign of Stock Doves there. I found one adult and three juveniles feeding near one of the ponds. The adult quickly flew off, but I was able to watch the juveniles for some time, until they were disturbed by two dogs. Although I know there are some around, these are the first I remember seeing in over eight years living in Pembrokeshire.

There was also plenty of other bird life, including two Great Spotted Woodpeckers noisily chasing each other around the woods, Nuthatches, Blackcaps and a variety of other birds.

On a completely different note, a belated thank you to Robert Cox, who "rescued" the Tripod that I had left behind at St Davids Airfield, and Jonathan Bennett for making me aware, via this Blog, of his contact number.
