Annual visit to Brynberian Moor (SN 09675 33273) for
Whinchat was successful with 7 birds (4m, 3f) inc 2 pairs. A pair of
Cuckoo were chasing each other around excitedly and inturn were being pursued by a number of pipits. 3-4 Whitethroat, quite a few Reed buntings, couple of Redpoll over, a
Kestrel and a few Green Hairsteaks.
Puncheston Common: Garden warbler and 7 Marsh Fritillaries, nice to bump into John Steer. And a quick look in
Ty Rhyg turned up 6
Crossbill (from the traffic light colours, red, green and amber looked like a family group) feeding on Scots Pine. 2-3 Garden warblers along the track. With Paul G.
