From Ian Smith:
The Gann. c10:30-11:00
Quick
visit mid morning was quiet. Just 3 Turnstone with single Dunlin on
beach at high tide. Another single Dunlin with Knot in lagoon where I
could only confirm 4 Greenshank and 8 Redshank.
Plumstone Mountain
Peregrine and Kestrel circling slowly overhead whilst drifting south 15:05.
Massed
along an old dried muddy track was well over 1000 nests of Ivy Bee.
Colletes hedera. Nearby in short turf were many hundreds more nests;
highly concentrated. Also very good numbers of diverse range of
Hoverflies. Personally the best site seen this year.
