My old friend and birding guru, Graham Rees passed away last June. Many others of his friends and fellow birders felt it would be appropriate to mark his passing with a dedicated birdwatch at Strumble on his birthday (Seprtember 9th), That would be a Thursday so I thought the following Sunday (12th) would be a better choice as a, It would allow those at work during the week to attend and b, For those living further afield Sunday is a better day than Saturday for travelling.
Ian Meopham our local Pembrokeshire Coast Natural Park Warden and myself have worked on a notice board. which explains the origins and uses of the lookout and Graham Rees and also Jack Donovans part in persuading the PCNP not to demolish the building. Brian Southern will add some appropriate images, and we are hoping it will be ready for unveiling on the afternoon of the 12th. at 3pm
I am hoping this will reach most of those who would wish to attend but if you know anyone who is unlikely to see this please let them know! allthingsgood, cliff
