Hook

From David Ord - The juvenile Curlew Sandpiper was again with the Dunlin flock this morning, the flock now having grown to some 83 birds. No sign of the Little Stint today or yesterday, perhaps it has moved on. The flock of Ringed Plover seems now to be stable at about 20 birds. As I walked back through the woods, they were full of birds. A mixed flock of thrushes (Mistle, Songand Blackbird), the first of the autumn, was feeding in the blackthorn bushes. Separately, a flock of at least 9 Blackcaps(male and female) was moving through the woods, presumably picking up insects on the way. A Goldcrest was with them briefly but was left behind as it seemingly became drunk with the bounty of one particular oak.
