Early morning

At the Gann around first light on a high tide, just eight Little Egrets on the flooded saltmarsh no sign of the Cattle Egret, not even with the herd of cattle at lower Mullock farm. A lone Brent on the sea & about 40 Redwings over. At Blacbridge pill,  not a single Med Gull, just the usual mixed bunch of Red & Greenshank with 2 Common Sands.Just seeing a single Jay fly over our house reminded me of previous comments about them, in the past fortnight I think I`ve seen at least one everyday, sometimes as many as five, they seem to to be doing well this year.
