With all these jays about, nice to get a really good look at one in the back garden. I'd never noticed those little tufts behind the eyes before. Luckily I'd cleaned the windows.
Over at West Williamston, lots more on the river especially wigeon as noted by Bob and Annie the other day. Two small flocks of golden plover flew over (roughly 60 and 40), headed inland, and my first lapwings of the autumn.
