Gann & #LocalBigYear

Stacks of gulls around during this morning's low tide, highlight was a minimum of 45 Mediterranean Gull (42+ adults, 3 2CY).  The Hooded Crow still strutting its stuff out on the beach.  At the Dale gull roost this evening, a lot of gulls as expected, only got there as the light was fading but still managed to pick out 32 Mediterranean Gull (31 adults, 1 2CY).  It was also nice to photograph a smart male Bullfinch in the garden today, it had been munching on the bramble seed-heads as you can see.

Those of you who are on Twitter, or subscribe to Birdwatch or Birdguides, may have come across the LocalBigYear.  Details HERE.  As we do most of our birding locally anyway, we thought it would be fun to take part, so we are going for the 10km radius from the house....no idea what we might get, but that is the fun!  Yes we are lucky to have 2 islands....!

Have a great 2022 everyone.  Dave & Lisa
