Llys-y-fran

4 adult Yellow-legged gulls in the roost this evening. The first few hundred gulls on the water were dropping in up beyond the hide around 3pm before flying down the reservoir just before sunset and tucking in tight to the near bank out of the stiff southerly. The majority were BH gulls which numbered over 2,000, c50 Common gull and 2 adult Meds. Apart from a few hundred LBB and Herring gulls the larger gulls were noticeable for their abscence and it was only as I was leaving I spotted the bigger gulls had crammed into the western arm with the main body virtually devoid of any gulls. A Little egret flew down the reservoir at 4pm and turned up the western arm presumably to roost.
