Sick/exhausted? Long-tailed Duck

Clive Hurford found a sick Long-tailed Duck late this morning. It was sitting in the middle of the road near the small Car Park  at Freshwater West. It was clearly very weak and could not fly and so Clive moved it to the road-side verge opposite the car park entrance. Hopefully it is well enough way from dogs etc at this popular and busy location. If it survives the night, it really needs to be on a sheltered pool where it can rest and feed.

Post update: Clive went back later and could not relocate the L-t Duck. It could walk ok and had no broken wings. There were no feathers etc to indicate possible predation. Having had a rest, hopefully it flew off ok. Perhaps it will turn up at somewhere like Pembroke Millponds or Bosherston Lakes - it might be worth a look anyway just in case?
