Wiseman's Bridge

I spent several hours at Wiseman's Bridge this morning with the plan to search through a large flock of gulls that has been frequenting the area for the last week or so. Slight fewer gulls than there has been in recent days, the vast majority being Herring gulls with the odd Lesser black-backed gull at 22 Great black-backed gulls. Nothing unusual seen amongst them during this morning's visit but I will keep checking...

A winter plumage Black Guillemot was the highlight of the morning, however. It spent most of its time swimming southwest towards Monkstone Point. Eventually becoming more distant and then lost to view. Also offshore, a Great Northern Diver, 6 Red-breasted Mergansers, 6 Great Crested Grebes and 4 Red-throated Divers.

19 Oystercatcher, 10 Turnstone and a Little Egret were on the rocks between here and Coppet Hall.
