Tap turns off, tap turns on!

The northerly winds of the past week had seemed to pretty much turn the migration tap off, but a switch around to the south east yesterday, interspersed with showers turned the tap back on.

During the Sea Trust Monday Morning Porpoise Watch at Strumble, volunteer Andy got onto a distant Osprey out to sea heading East. Several Terns (sp) passed by, again heading eas. I arrived late t but two terns I identified as Sandwich Terns were heading west. and small flurries of hirundines, (Sand and House Martins as well as Swallows) were coming in off the sea

Later on I was contacted by Tina Davies of St Nicholas, who had seen a male Ring Ousel briefly in her garden in the afternoon, not a bad garden tick!
