More fieldfare movements: near Cresswell Quay & Carew

On the subject of recent large thrush movements, late this morning (c.11:45) a large flock of fieldfares estimated to be at least 1,000-1,500 strong flew east over the minor road just north of Cresswell Quay, between Woddock Lake and Oakhill Plantation. It was quite an impressive sight and probably the largest flock of this species that I (Bob) has seen in Pembs. for quite a few years! There were smaller numbers of redwings (c.100) in nearby trees.

Later on, at c.17:30, we noted c.200 fieldfares flying approximately east over Carew Castle. Perhaps these were heading towards a roost somewhere?
