Lucy flushed an owl from our “garden” this morning: it looked too grey and “cold” for a Short-eared Owl. We relocated it at the bottom of a gorse bush just inside the Deer Park, and got great views of the orange eyes, facial patterns, and erect ear tufts.
Postscript: we had a bit of a search in the area of the sallows where the owl had flushed from, and found a pile of Goldfinch feathers on the ground!
