Once again, the linnets at Gupton Farm were unbothered by the kestrel that parked himself amongst them. Sparrowhawk, merlin and peregrine a very different matter, they cause chaos. I went down to check out the new sightlines at the hide, which are vastly better, though the only reedbed birds on offer today were heard, not seen. No sign of the stock dove flock, just singles flying about, the four chough in exactly the same spot on the ridge. The heron was keeping an eye on things in the fen meadow.
