The linnet flocks remain impressive at Gupton even at the latter end of the season, thanks to the new planting regime. Several hundred today concentrated on the brassica crop near Starman's Hall which recently hosted the large stock dove flock (which seems to have moved on). A few goldfinches and chaffinches among them. I haven't spotted any greenfinches, though Bob did back in December, nor bramblings. The whirring of wings as they all take off is amazing.
