Sea Trust Pelagic Yesterday

A great day out on the Sea Trust Pelagic aboard the Cartlett Lady yesterday. Whilst the emphasis was on finding cetaceans plenty of birds were seen too with Manx Shearwaters the most numerous species with many large groups seen. c.12 “Commic” Terns were seen early on with a few more later in the day. Several large groups of Gannets helped to locate pods of Dolphins and many Guillemots were seen with the calls of the young carrying a long distance in the calm conditions. 2 Storm Petrels were seen briefly and Grey Phalarope and Great Skua were also added to the list. A grand total of 705 Common Dolphins, 4 Porpoise and 4 Minke Whales added to the birds made for an excellent day out. Full reports on the day at the Whales in Wales blog and see a few of my photos by clicking on the pic below.
