White-rumped Sandpiper & other sightings

The smart juvenile White-rumped Sandpiper was still at the Nevern Estuary today, between the tennis courts and the Yacht Club on the south side.  Despite the poor weather, it was very welcome to see after failing to find it on Wednesday.

My first visit to the Gann yesterday for a month or so.  A Great Northern Diver was out in the bay, and there were at least 26 Mediterranean Gulls on the shoreline, including white ringed 3N9A from Belgium. Curlew with white flag X41 from the Netherlands is back for its second winter (see https://submit.cr-birding.org/animals/108779/).  A Bar-tailed Godwit was also present.

A Moorhen has taken to visiting our garden, sitting in the hedge and walking around under the bird table.  A nice addition to the St Ishmaels garden list, after Lisa recorded a group 5 Whooper Swans over the garden the week before last.
