Yesterday the Green-winged Teal was showing well beside the iron bridge in Newport alongside his apparently European partner. I wonder what any male offspring would look like.
Today at St Davids Head a juvenile Merlin was hunting widely before settling down to enjoy the sun on a gorse bush. It was very hard to see unless you had seen it land. It later flew off in hot pusuit of a Snipe that I had disturbed in a marshy spring nearby.
