Sadly, no Marsh Harrier for me, when I visited the mere a little later in the afternoon from Derek.
A large flock of predominantly Lesser Black Back Gulls were on the edge of mere when I arrived along with the usual Coot and Moorhen. A decent sized flock of jackdaw descended later to have a wash and a drink.
I did briefly see one of the Kestrels at distance and a Buzzard spent a bit of time on a post and a bush.
The highlights for me were a flock of 13 Black Tailed Godwit, that got flushed and circled once before landing back in the thicker vegetation further
into the mere, and one of the juvenile Little Grebes was showing well.
