Brown shrike, found by Steve Jones earlier today at Halfway, Ffordd Porth Clais between St Davids and Porthclais. SM 74524 24844, airbase.echo.blend. If confirmed I believe a first for Wales. View from the road or just through the gate that leads to a public footpath. Park carefully and considerately along road back towards St Davids or down in NT car park in Porthclais and walk back up the hill. What an obliging stunning bird. Perches up in the blackthorn and bracken between chasing and catching wasps and bees that are visiting the patches of ivy. It seemed settled and showing really well to a small group. Still active until just before we left around 17:30. More photos to come from others no doubt.
