The colour ringed Curlew I saw at Newport on 25 Sept was ringed as an adult in Shropshire at Dolydd Hafren near Welshpool in March 2023 as part of the Curlew Country ringing project. Apart from a sighting a couple of days later at the same location this is the first time it has been recorded elsewhere. The sighting is about 130 Km (80miles) from the ringing location.
As reported previously it had red/orange ring on the left leg and a green over a yellow ring on the right leg with a black 83 on the yellow ring. It is a female.
