Migration in action

Gann early evening, a different selection to Brian's earlier in the day (tide was out).  Highlight was 8 Mediterranean Gulls, 5 adults & 3 1CY birds. 3 of the adults were sat on an island on the lagoon, the other 5 got up after a little while, gained some height, and headed northwards up the river. Also 1 Redshank, 2 Barwits, 1 Common Sandpiper, 9 Dunlin, 4 Ringed Plover, 4 Little Egret, 1 Grey Heron & 2 Little Grebe.  Other signs of migration were a few Chaffinch buzzing over (SW) and at least 3 Chiffchaff flitting around the bushes.
