At about 9 o'clock tonight we passed Trehill Farm and saw a white bird swooping over the road in the sunset and headlights. Having thought it was a gull it turned out to be a Barn Owl, which was mobbing a cat. We stopped the car and it came within five yards of us, totally ignoring us but fixated on the cat,which it kept diving on and around. I wonder if the cat had tried to attack it, or poached a vole that the owl had been targeting?
