A juvenile/1W Glaucous Gull flew into the Mere at 1300 and spent half an hour drinking and preening, allowing interesting comparisons with a range of other large gulls present. It looked significantly different to the one I saw on Marloes beach on Friday, being much heavier, and the plumage being a far more even creamy colour, with far fewer distinct brown spots.
BUT, the bird today was sitting hunched on the water, whereas on Friday the bird was standing very erect and feeding. So it may just be a case of what a difference posture/light make when looking at the same gull.
