Curlew Sandpiper at the Gann

I`m only used to seeing these birds as Autumn juveniles, even then not that often, so this one was at first confusing, in conversation with Dave last night it seems that by now they should be in Summer plumage or nearly so. However it would appear that this one is still in Winter garb with maybe a tad of colour coming through on it`s back. I met Trevor P as I was about to leave & showed him some photos I took & he was of the opinion that is a Curlew Sandpiper & an unusual Spring record. So here are some more of those pics taken this morning. Also another colour ringed Whimbrel in the field opposite the car park with a pale yellow ring over a pale green above the knee, left leg & a red ring above the knee right leg, couldn`t see any letters / numbers.
