No starlings headed to the reedbed roost earlier this evening, instead they appear to be favouring the Miscanthus grass fields again, as they did from about this time last year.
More than 200 redwings came in to roost in the rhododendron zone in Minwear Wood. A single male goshawk flew over the reedbed and up towards the Miscanthus zone, presumably hunting starlings.
A single common sandpiper was feeding along the Eastern Cleddau shore (one often over-winters in this area).
