A Spotted Redshank was active among a busy bunch of 28 Redshanks at Picton Ferry this afternoon. Rarely seen in the county these days, I wonder will it linger in this previously favoured section of the estuary ? Might be worth keeping an eye open at Landshipping Quay and the mouth of Millin Pill and for the active up Sprinkle Pill.
The packed ranks of c1,000 Golden Plovers made a good backdrop to today's viewing.
