Three Sand Martins were feeding over Mallard pond on the reserve at 1600. I believe John Thomas counted 6 by dusk. An un-ringed Firecrest was feeding near the pay & display machine in the car park, and a Marsh Tit feeding in the car park too.
I mention the Firecrest being un-ringed as we have ringed 5 on the reserve during the late autumn to winter period.
Today's singing Cetti's Warbler was good news ! Following the Beast from the East in March 2018 we haven't heard or caught any for the last two years during the breeding season.
