I met up with Rob Lewis at the Corse this morning. A marsh harrier was ranging up and down the Corse, almost certainly juvenile female (plumage + size) - a toss-up which picture to use, Rob's or mine, but mine caught the whole of the upperparts. A large linnet flock was feeding in a fodder crop on Gupton - there are about 320 in the photo, more were on the ground. A single kestrel at the Starman's end, Rob saw a sparrowhawk after I'd left. A Cetti's sang briefly from blackthorn in the reedbed. Otherwise extremely quiet - two herons, the odd snipe, stonechat.... Another mixed linnet and house sparrow flock was feeding near Gupton Farm buildings.
